The WRJ Book Club meets every month to discuss books of Jewish interest.
The books are selected by consensus and can represent any genre. Recent selections include The Fish that Swallowed the Whale, a biography of the Jewish immigrant who ran United Fruit, and Alice Hoffman’s bestselling novel of Masada, The Dovekeepers. A Jewish Book Council award-winning selection, The Innocents, examined the mores of a contemporary Jewish enclave in North London, and is based on the Edith Wharton novelThe Age of Innocence.
The books chosen are always available in paperback and e-book editions. They all can be found at the New York Public Library. Discussions are always open-ended and lively. Everyone in the community is invited to join at any time. the Book Club discussions are led by Ronni Stozenberg.
