The Chavurah will meet on January 18, following our Shabbat service and communal lunch. The Torah portion, Shemot, brings us to the Book of Exodus, where a Pharaoh who did not know Joseph decides to enslave the Israelites, demanding that all their male babies be killed at birth. Infant Moses is sent afloat on the Nile and is rescued by Pharaoh’s daughter. He grows up in the royal household but is chosen by Adonai to rescue his brethren from bondage. All are welcome to join in the spirited discussion as we read this wonderful Torah portion.
